Ok, so we all are interested in meeting likeminded women for a little fun... anyone have suggestions on a group activity?

Re: Ladies!
Mon, April 12, 2004 - 3:40 PMwell that depends on what everyone here likes to do....
i like going to underground psytrance parties & campouts, some pagan events/gatherings, drum & dance events/gatherings, i like to draw, work on my garden, watch foreign/indie movies, i have recently become interested in using psychedelics as a spiritual aid and for expanding consciousness.
it seems like the majority of my friends are guys (why is that anyways?!), and i would like more female friends to do girly things with :) thanks for starting this tribe, rien. it's a great idea!

Re: Ladies!
Mon, April 12, 2004 - 4:12 PMThere are so many things we could do!
I have a crafty and kinda earth momma side to me (no, not in the Wiccan sense per say eileen ;) although I do know a great deal about women's' spirituality and am open to it!) For example, I love to watch movies and do beadwork or sewing or scrap-booking or whatever and drink too much wine and eat too much chocolate. So if anyone wants to have a "Stitch and bitch" I'm up for that!
I have a music and dance side to me as well. I LOVE traditional Irish music and ceili dancing. I love goth clubs (ex-goth here), I love old-school raves too. I love classical and enjoy going to Davies to see and hear MTT and the gang. I just Love music and performance in general. So if you have a play, non-trendy club (I'm a fat chick! I don't do trendy well), concert, or festival you want to go to I'm up for that too!
I Love beer, wine, mixed drinks (especially in Tiki bars) and good food. I would enjoy going out for a drink or good meal. Or perhaps have a BBQ in my back yard? No I'm not a drunk but I do know how to enjoy life!
I LOVE to shop! It's kinda a problem really. If you want to go to Stanford shopping centre, the Haight, downtown, or even thrift shops I am SO THERE!
I like pretty places so if someone wants to go to the beach and relax or the Santa Cruz mountains or just to a park I'm up for it. But again, I'm a fat chick so I probably won't go swimming or hiking. I have my pride!
I'm even up for charity events or short-term volunteering with friends.
That's are just a few tidbits about me!
I'd love to hear from everyone else too!

Re: Ladies!
Wed, April 14, 2004 - 4:22 PMLove a good bbq. Love Poker. Love gabbing. :)
At risk of revealing my true geek self, what in the blue blazes is a "drum circle"? -
-
Re: Ladies!
Wed, April 14, 2004 - 5:00 PMa drum circle is when a bunch of hippies/college students/percussion fanatics/belly dancers/and the like get together and bang on their drums :) It's much fun, and depending on the skill of the drummers and your comfort dancing, it can be a transformative experience.

Re: Ladies!
Wed, April 14, 2004 - 10:09 AMIn all honesty, I am not a super "sporty" chick...more an urban sportswoman (ie. I like shopping in all shapes and forms, indoor, outdoor, etc!). I would be down for a bbq...I would be down for anything, actually. Just let me know... -

Re: Ladies!
Sat, April 17, 2004 - 1:45 PMI'm with Mori on the sporty stuff (being a total klutz and all) but outdoors are great ... and food is never a bad thing! Having the first event outdoors might be a good idea just to get some f2f connections; aren't there barbeques for public use in GG park?
Hell, its San Francisco, there's got to be *something* to do in this one-horse town ... ;)
(*speaking as someone who's only lived here ten months and is impossibly overwhelmed by how much there is going on here) -

Sat, April 17, 2004 - 2:02 PMi am always up for outdoorsy stuff, hiking and climbing especially.
also would love to have a group of girls to go to underground raver parties with. and shopping, when i have disposable income i really want to hit up haight street.
pretty much everything mentioned here sounds good. also interested in hosting a girl's night at my house sometime where we can exchange hair & makeup & product tips and do girlie stuff like that. i've been considering this one for ages but finding the time to do it has been tricky... -

Wed, April 28, 2004 - 8:27 PMHowdy girls,
I'm always up for shopping-- thrift stores, Macys, Forever 21 is da' bomb, anything. I also take belly dance classes at rhythm and Motion in SF and would enjoy company. Other fun things-- I'm into watching motorcycle racing, going dancing (electro, goth, whatever...), hiking, surfing-- basically I'm game for just about anything! -

Wed, April 28, 2004 - 9:43 PManything outdoors is great. no car and all my girls are urban ones. would love to do some hiking, visit the beach when it was hot like this past week. dancing to psytrance, d&B any kind of dance, love to do it and haven't lately. crafting stuff is fun too, have to make crap for burning man..... -

Re: Ladies!
Mon, May 3, 2004 - 10:10 PMFood. I love the food. Restaurants, potlucks, cooking class. Food.
I've also got the goods to host either a good old foot pampering/pedicure, spa stuff, makeup 101 or face mask party. Sure, I have the supplies and such to sell products - but for good time girl fun, I'd do it just for fun! (OK, maybe a $1 donation to buy replacement products)
I'd also be interested in throwing fun parties - not the typical booze 'n schmooze - but gimmicky.
Message me if any of this sounds interesting.

Re: Ladies!
Fri, June 25, 2004 - 11:08 AMHello everyone,
I joned this tribe a while back but with the end of school and a vacation I have not had much time to participate...yet, Hopefully that will all change soon.
I would love to meet for some events - most of my friends are guys and it would be great to meet a few more ladies.
I have to admit I am a bit of a non-girlie girl. I used to live a way away from school and never really had any female friends to do the sleepover/makeup/pampering type of activities with when I was growing up and I have continued to really never really be much in to beauty events. But, as I am getting older I realise that I have to do a bit more now :P
So I am up for all sorts of things (though probably not in SJ) Hope to meet some of you soon.
