I've just recieved a message from our fellow member and it has caught my attention. I would like to share this with you all, it's the back and forth messages we shared.

Please dont put a dark cloud over their carefully planned event by causing worry that you haven't turned up! We
understand that it can't be helped sometimes but be
warned... I'm afraid Consistent Flakers will be removed!!!!

What do you mean by "Consistent Flakers"? If you mean people who say they will attend but don't, that's fine. If you assume that by joining this tribe I'll be in regular attendance, well, that's just silly and what I would consider an unreasonable expectation.
We all have lives. Only punish the people who advertise their presence somewhere and don't live up to it.

Yes, you do have a good point there. I'm fairly new to this site, but I'll get around into finding out ways to resolving this issue if it happens in the future. I'm not really expecting everyone that has joined this tribe to attend to the events, but those that plan or will hold an event should at least keep everyone posted if in case they cancel. You are so right about this: "Only punish the people who advertise their presence somewhere and don't live up to it." I will surely follow this through. Well, if you have any other suggestion, I will very much accept it and try my best to resolve any problems there is. I hope it's okay with you if
I post these messagee to let everyone know of this, just to clarify this misunderstanding. Thanks,

That sounds like an excellent plan. Go ahead and use my words if it helps explain what you mean.

I just wanted to make sure that the expectation wasn't that since I joined I would be at every event, because well, that's just not going to happen, and if that *was* the expectation, then I would remove myself from the tribe because that would be the appropriate action on my part.

Thanks for accepting my permission, well I hope it would as well be reassuring to the other members that read the message. Anyhow, I'll probably do an e-vite thing where the
other members can rsvp to an event that way the one
that organizes the event will have a head count on who
is attending...that is still up in the air.

I need input on this...any suggestion from anybody out there?

that correspondance was totally confusing. i have no idea, but hopefully, the conclusion is: people that plan events should follow through, but attendees who flake shall be forgiven.

yeah but I kinda think that sucks...if I plan something and a bunch of people say they will come, but no one shows...it defeats the purpose of this tribe. Isn't this tribe to actually meet up and hang out. Just don't say you will come, if you know you really won't.

I am not trying to be a bitch, just trying to flush this out. If you make a committment, don't be a flake. No one expects everyone to go to everything...

That is so true, Mori, you are right about that. We are here because we want to meet other people in a context of friendship and mutual support, both personally and professionally, and in a spirit of experiment and evolution. We are all adults here, so we should show abit of responsibility.
If ever you are not too sure on going, then just rsvp a maybe
for the event or let the organizer know that you won't make it if you previously said yes! That way you won't leave them hanging, just for courtesy sake.
        Kindness begets kindness.
