Anyone interested in a semi-regular poker game? (Weekly, monthly, etc)
I used to host a weekly all girls poker game. Newbies were welcome as we always had a printed set of rules, how to play, and what hand beats what on the table. We played for very low states, i.e penny ante--max raise was a quarter. It was mostly good for getting laundry money. We always brought good wine and good food and would play as late as we could stand, or people would crash on the couch. Woman would invite their co-workers, sisters, and other friends until we were 2 or 3 tables of 4--6. It was great!
I would be willing to host the first games, and then we could rotate to different houses so people would not have to always drive too far. I live in South San Jose. Let me know.

Re: Poker
Sat, July 3, 2004 - 3:33 PMThis is such a great idea. We should do this, we can probably start out by holding it on a monthly basis and go from there. I am a beginner and recently played among a group of people, where we all had to chip in $5 and given a specified amount of chips. There were probably twenty of us, so we were divided off to two group and then whoever had chips left were to play against each other. The one left standing wins it all, which made the game last sooo long.
I would think your idea would be best, but I just thought I'd share my experience. -
